Delta Centre are recruiting for a Social Care Worker to provide holistic, person-centred social care within a residential setting, promoting optimum independence, enhancing the quality of life for service users with intellectual, physical or sensory disability in all aspects of daily living.

Qualifications Required:

  • Minimum of an Ordinary Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Social Care Studies awarded by a recognised body (Level 7 on the National Framework of Qualifications)

or

  • Minimum of an Ordinary Bachelor’s Degree in Social Care Practise awarded by a recognised body (Level 7 on the National Framework of Qualifications)

or

  • Minimum of an Ordinary Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Social Studies (Disabilities) awarded by a recognised body (Level 7 on the National Framework of Qualifications)

 or

  • A relevant qualification in a healthcare field awarded by a recognised body (Level 7 on the National Framework of Qualifications)

and

  • Have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and ability)to properly discharge the functions of the role.
  • Full clean drivers’ licence.

Care Assistant Worker in Day Services – Permanent

Delta Centre are recruiting for Care Assistant in a Day service setting to provide holistic, person-centred support, promoting optimum independence, enhancing the quality of life for service users with intellectual, physical or sensory disability in all aspects of daily living.

Qualifications Required:

  • A minimum of a QQI level 5 qualification in Healthcare Support.

or

  • An equivalent health care qualification.

and

  • Have the personal competence and capacity to properly discharge the duties of the role.
  • Full clean drivers’ licence.

Skills, Competencies and/or Knowledge Required:

  • To contribute to the promotion, creation and maintenance of a welcoming, caring and supportive environment in the Day Service setting ensuring a high standard of support and care is delivered.
  • To always treat the Day Service users with dignity and respect.
  • To be attentive to the physical, intellectual and emotional needs of the service users.
  • To encourage community participation in all aspects of individual programmes
  • To contribute to the provision of a programme of stimulating activities for all the service users and to assist in developing recreation activities and hobbies.
  • To escort and assist on community outings arranged.
  • To promote safeguarding and ensure the individuals being supported are not subjected to any forms of abuse.
  • To implement agreed programmes in liaison with supervisor
  • To ensure that all relevant records are maintained to a high standard
  • To share in those duties, which are essential to the maintenance of hygiene
